Mabel moves up to 1st Place in the Am. Bred Bitch class at the Mastiff National Speciality in North Carolina after one girl is disallowed.

Poudre takes Best of Breed at Somerset Hills Kennel Club, 
a supported show by the Garden State Mastiff Fanciers (GSMF) with 30 mastiffs entered under  Judge Dr. Robert D. Smith!

HUGE NEWS:  Poudre is a NEW CHAMPION!!  Poudre just finished his championship the weekend of 05/03/08.  He won a five point major under British judge/breeder/author of The Complete Mastiff, Betty Baxter (see her crtique here)beating almost 130 dogs!  She flew over just for this very prestigious show down at Bucks County Kennel Club, so it is an honor to even win a class under her watch.  Moreover, Betty chose Poudre as Winners Dog and Best of Winners, so this is HUGE!!!  Mabel also did very well at Bucks placing 1st in her class (6-9 month bitches) under Mrs. Betty Baxter, beating 4 other really nice girls at only age 6 months and 2 weeks!!!  We all had a blast!!

Brownspride Mastiffs is located in Southeastern CT, approximately 2 hours East of New York City and 1 1/2 hours South of Boston. Our guys and gals live inside with us, and have free reign of the house and yard. They eat in the kitchen, sleep in the living room, and nap about anywhere there's an empty space. We have about one and a half acres of mostly fenced in land. Our dogs are our family and stay in the house with us (of course). 

      When we do go outside they stay at our sides as this is where they are the happiest. We've owned mastiffs for ten years and at this point are certain of what we like. Our dogs embody many of the traits that endear the breed to us, and we hope to propagate those traits in future generations. We've just begun to show, so we'll see how our tastes "stack" up against the current crop of dogs in the ring. Feel free to check back regularly to monitor our progress (or lack thereof).
