Poudre is a beautiful young male we acquired from Carole Smith, of Tamarack Mastiffs. Now at four years old, Poudre's chest has dropped significantly and he has come into his own, physically.   He will likely continue to fill out more but at this point his size far surpasses most other males we've encountered.  In addition to his size, Poudre possesses excellent conformation, which led to him earning an AKC championship in May 2008, under the critical eye of Ms. Betty Baxter at the renowned Bucks County Kennel Club show. Poudre has been shown on a very limited basis, all owner-handled.

According to Ms. Baxter and other AKC judges, Poudre’s headpiece and tight, powerful rear are his key attributes, the likes of which allow for tremendous expression and fluid movement respectively. Poudre has a perfect scissors bite and excellent pigment across his mask, ears and throughout his coat, creating a nice, dark brindling. His bone is plentiful and should thicken further as Poudre continues to mature.

Poudre is a real homebody, preferring naps and hugs by the fireplace to adventures in the woods and abroad. He loves to nibble and kiss the chins of anyone who allows him and has always been quite the affectionate boy.
